For promoting the fest this year,they have already shortlisted 40 colleges. “The idea is to live up to the image of the fest and provide the students a fun,learning experience,” he says,adding that they are expecting a footfall of 30,000 this year,which will include many international performances. “Over the years foreign rock bands to Indian superstars like Pritam,Sonu Niigam,Shaan,KK,Sukhwinder,Kailash Kher and classical performers like Pt. Bhimsen Joshi,Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia,Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Ustad Zakir Hussain have performed at the fest. The star performer for this year is yet to be finalised though,” he says.

Bhat tells us this year their rock band competition,Wildfire,is going nationwide. “From this edition the prelims will be held in four cities in India — Bangalore,Delhi,Kolkata and Guwahati,” he says. Other events include creative writing,debating,speaking,quizzing,dancing,music,painting and drama. “The multiple events at Spring Fest will give the participants an opportunity to compete against the best of the country,” he signs off.
