Six nominations were received for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections on Monday, the third day for f filing papers.
Ajay Goyal,Ram Pal Hans and Khem Lal Bansal, all Independent candidates filed their candidatures. While Goyal filed four sets of nomination papers, the other two filed one nomination each, taking the total number of nominations to six. One person can file four sets,as was done by Pawan Kumar Bansal on Saturday. It gives a back up in case one set gets rejected,if wrongly filled.
Born in Kurukshetra,Ajay Goyal is a film financier and investor. He has worked abroad for several years before deciding to contest the general elections from the city. He has been doing the rounds of colonies and slums to gauge the problems of the residents.
Going by his declarations,Goyal is one of the richest contestants from the city. Meanwhile,Ram Pal Hans is the president of the New Congress Party but since the party is not registered,he is contesting as an Independent candidate.
