Creativity has no limits. It has no form either. It flows free from the human mind. One such creative mind is Abhivayakti Saxena,a Class X student of Carmel Convent School,who recently won the Bal Shree Honour in creative writing. The Bal Shree Award,a Presidential award aims to identify creative students within the age group of 9 to 16. The award is given in four areas — creative art,creative performance,creative scientific innovations and creative writing.

“This one’s special,considering I never pursued writing seriously,until a few years back,when I started to put my thoughts and expressions in words,” smiles Abhivayakti,who has been part of the Reporters Club in her school,which in association with The Indian Express,gives students a chance to meet journalist and work with them.

A winner of the best delegate award in the DPSMUN-Model United Nation Conference,apart from writing,the young lady’s been learning classical music,dance and playing the guitar. “Life’s all about learning new things,’’ Saxena has won numerous prizes in debates,extempore competitions,poetry writing and street plays and is a topper in academics too. “She has not only made her parents proud,but also her teachers and school proud,” smiles Sister Maria Christi,Principal of Carmel Convent School,who believes it’s crucial to strike a balance between academics and extra-curricular activities. Self-driven and prone to stress,Abhivayakati says her parents who are her stress-busters. “She is a self-motivated and balanced person,and a wonderful daughter,” quips Sanjeev Saxena,her father. Abhivayakati aspires to be an engineer and above all a good human being…
