In an effort to get mothers and children to bond and have fun,Tiny Feet Giant Leaps,a creative activity centre for children,is set to launch Tiny Feet Mama and Bebe Playgroup. The playgroup will have facilitators, educators and doctors create an exclusive environment, using pretend play toys, puppets, music, puzzles and games to foster social skills, language and physical development, while keeping in mind that children of this age prefer to play independently, point out Deepali Nangia and Aman Patwalia of Tiny Feet. Mothers will partake in an activity with their children and the classes will focus on motor, sensory and mental development. Of course, there will be loads of fun too, says Ritu Lal,an educator and facilitator. Also lined up are a series of workshops, which will bring in experts to discuss and debate physiological and psychological topics of interest. Leading the Tiny Feet panel of experts are Dr Mahesh Hiranandani and Dr Inderjeet Kaur, who have a special interest in behavioural pediatrics, and Dr Hiranandani, who is involved in educating parents, teachers and paramedics in infant,child-care development and childhood emergencies. The doctors will pitch in with workshops that will include childhood emergencies, how to prepare for them, child nutrition, behaviour and so on.
