Testing time for city police

It took only 48 hours for the new UT Senior Superintendent of Police,Naunihal Singh,to bring down the response time.

It took only 48 hours for the new UT Senior Superintendent of Police,Naunihal Singh,to bring down the response time of 60 minutes of the lethargic ‘we care for you’ police brigade to 8 minutes. In an exercise to check the response time of PCR vehicles, the SSP on Tuesday called all of them near hotel Aroma during a surprise check.

“On Sunday when I had taken a similar surprise test, some PCR vehicles took an hour to report. The response time today has come down to 8 minutes. I intend to bring it down further to 4 minutes,” Naunihal told Newsline.

Former Inspector General of Police B S Bassi five years ago had claimed the response time of PCR vehicles in Chandigarh is four to five minutes. Thanks to the lackadaisical attitude of higher authorities of UT police that the response time had touched 60 minutes. With Naunihal aiming at 4 minutes of response time,UT police is all set to be on its toes.
