This Sunday, spend an evening getting a dose of wisdom and patriotism, with two back to back Punjabi plays . The first play,Anhe Kaane ,written by renowned playwright and director Dr Atamjit shows us how truth and knowledge ultimately prevail. The play is about five blind men working for their one-eyed chief who exploits them and doesn’t let them see the light of truth. A khoji,a knowledge seeker, meets them and motivates the blind men and removes the darkness and hoplessness in their lives. Once they follow his advice, they see through their chief’s game clearly and make him pay for it. The other play,Vande Matram,is a much lighter production as it is a comical satire on society and how educated people are unaware of their national song,Vande Matram and how adults are failing to instill a feeling of national pride in their children. Both plays have been directed by Baninderjit Singh Bunny with artists from Impact Theatre.

The plays will be staged on May 27,at Punjab Kala Bhawan,Sector 16,at 7 pm
