Sujjan,Ajeetesh to lead Chandigarh charge

Local golfers Sujjan Singh,Ajeetesh Sandhu,Harendra Gupta and Abhijit Singh Chadha will lead the local challenge in the PGTI Players' Championship to be played at Chandigarh Golf Club from Tuesday

Local golfers Sujjan Singh,Ajeetesh Sandhu,Harendra Gupta and Abhijit Singh Chadha will lead the local challenge in the PGTI Players’ Championship to be played at Chandigarh Golf Club from Tuesday.

The championship will also feature players like Jyoti Randhawa,Mukesh Kumar (defending champion and current Rolex Ranking leader),Shamim Khan (reigning Rolex Ranking champion),Chiragh Kumar,Rahil Gangjee,Ashok Kumar,Rashid Khan,Om Prakash Chouhan,Shankar Das,Manav Jaini,Digvijay Singh,Gaurav Ghei and Vinod Kumar,to name a few. The tournament offers a prize purse of Rs. 30 lakh. Kunal Bhasin (Australia) and Md Zamal Hossain Mollah (Bangladesh) are the top professionals from overseas playing the event.

I have not been playing for the past few weeks and this tournament is a good opportunity for me. Playing at my home gold course has its own advantages,I am looking forward to the event. The heavy monsoons have meant that the course is playing rough and it will be a challenge to play here, said Ajeetesh Sandhu. Seasoned golfer Jyoti Randhawa will take part in his first tournament of the season and is expected to pose a tough challenge to the rest of the field. We are looking forward to the top Indian professionals coming to Chandigarh. The golf course has been set to provide a challenge to the golfers while at the same time there are a few high risk high reward opportunities.
