‘Suicides’ in Colony No 4,Industrial Area

A 24-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by stabbing himself at his house in Colony No-4 in the Industrial Area on Tuesday night.

A 24-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by stabbing himself at his house in Colony No-4 in the Industrial Area on Tuesday night. The man succumbed to his injuries at PGI today morning.

According to police,Sunil,who was working as an AC mechanic,stabbed himself in a fit of rage after entering into an argument with his younger sister. His sister,reportedly,was in a relationship with a man and he did not approve of this relationship. He had warned her to snap all ties with him. “Yesterday at around 9 pm,his sister received a missed call from her alleged lover and when Sunil saw this,he got into an argument with her. In a fit of rage,he then stabbed himself in the stomach. His family rushed him to GMSH-16 from where he was referred to PGI. However,he succumbed to his injuries at around 8 am today,” a police officer said.

The officer further said,“We received a call from the hospital informing us about Sunil’s death and we registered a case of murder. However,during investigation it was found that Sunil had committed suicide and then the case was changed from murder to suicide.”

Sunil was living in a jhuggi in the Industrial Area with his parents,younger sister and his wife. He had got married five months back and his wife had gone to visit her parents,police added.

In another case,a 27-year-old woman died after she allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Darua village on Wednesday.

Gautam Devi was found hanging from the ceiling fan by her husband Manohar Yadav. At around 2 pm today,Yadav came home for lunch and found his wife hanging from the ceiling fan,a police officer said. No suicide note has been recovered and the reason for committing suicide is yet to be ascertained. The case is being investigated.
