BJP’s national vice-president and in-charge of state BJP affairs,Shanta Kumar, has given a ‘clean chit’ to Local Bodies minister Tikshan Sud against whom serious corruption charges were leveled by a forest officer recently.

However, about the allegations of corruption against the other BJP ministers and leaders,Shanta Kumar said that if any strong evidence comes up against any minister or leaders,a proper probe would be conducted against them.

After conducting the meeting of party leaders, including ministers,CPSes,mayors,MC presidents and other office bearers,Shanta Kumar addressed media persons here on Monday.

With reference to the party’s decision to unseat three of its ministers in a moral initiative after CBI booked Khurana,Kumar was asked why the same parameters were not being adopted for minster Sud against whom serious allegations were levelled by a forest officer. Kumar said there was no evidence to establish all such allegations against Sud. Asked whether ha gave a clean chit to Sud,he said ‘yes’ at once, adding that forest officer RR Kakkar, who accused Sud,himself did not have a clean image.

He repeatedly told journalists that the party had not ‘dropped’ the three ministers but only ‘reshuffled’ them in a an overdue exercise. As to why the BJP chose to shuffle its pack only after the CBI case,he said it was a mistake on the part of BJP as reshuffling should have done much before.

Asked whether he also gave a clean chit to the other BJP ministers and senior leaders whose names were involved in one or other corruption cases,Kumar had no words. He said all the ministers would remain under scanner and action could be taken if there was any truth in the allegations.
