Moudgill to lead Indian lawyers
Chandigarh: Sandeep Moudgill of Punjab and Haryana High Court will lead the Indian lawyer’s cricket team against Pakistan lawyer’s cricket team in the Indo-Pak Lawyers harmony Cricket Cup-2010 which will be played today. The Pakistan team arrived at Chandigarh on Thursday evening and the match will be played at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium at 2.30 pm. The Pakistan team will also play another match on Saturday against Punjab and Haryana Bar Council XI in a Twenty-20 match. Athletics tourney on July 24 and 25
Chandigarh: Chandigarh Athletics Association is going to conduct the Chandigarh State Athletic Meet on July 24 and 25 at Sports Complex,Sector 46,Chandigarh.Competitions will be held in variuos categories like sub-junior boys and girls,junior boys and girls U-16,U-18,U-20 (boys and girls) and men and women. The events will get underway from at 8.00 a.m. Entries can be submitted to coach Iqbal Singh,on July 23 at 4.30 p.m at the venue.

Football trials today
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Football Association has announced the date for selection trials to prepare the sub-junior girls’ team for the forthcoming Sub-Junior National Under-16 Girls Football Championship to be held in Haldwani in the third week of August. Rakesh Bakshi,CFA secretary said the trials will be held on July 23 at 4.30 pm at Sector 17 Football Stadium. The players born on or after January 1,1996 are eligible to take part in the trials and as many as 25 probables will be selected after the trials.

Golf programme from Aug 21
Chandigarh: A three-month long EGTF Junior Coaching Programme will commence at Chandigarh Golf Club from August 21. Another two-month long coaching programme has been planned to be held from August 18 to October 14. “As the three-month long programme is full with ten players and more members of the CGC want to join,we have introduced the two-month long programme. The programme will be held twice-a-week,every Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm-5pm and the programme will consist of 18 coaching days over the two months,” said Ajay Gujral,joint director,CHC Academy and EGTF certified coach. U-16 tourney on anvil
Chandigarh: Chandigarh Cricket Association (Affiliated to PCA) is going to organise U-16 cricket tournament in the end of the July.The matches will be of 50 overs and five teams.
