KCSU,a 20-year-old party in the college lost the post of the president by a tiny margin of two votes, while securing the other three posts of Vice-president,Joint Secretary and General Secretary.
The KCSU candidate nominated for the post of president,Hardeep Singh Shergil, claimed,There was no polling agent in the room where the counting for the post of president was going on. How should we accept the declared results? We requested the authorities to do a recounting but to no avail. The DSW has signed our letter saying the results for the president post is awaited but we are sure, the matter will not be taken seriously. Recounting should be done again, and if not,we are ready to give back the other three posts,we have been given.
Meanwhile,SOPU candidate,Gurwinder Singh was elected as president with 1,175 votes. SOPU contested the elections in the college for the first time, forging an alliance with NSUI,HSA and CSU.
