Sing Along

Manjusha Patil,an accomplished singer,performed at a baithak,an open-air ceremony at the Triveni Sangeet Sabha in Sector 16 on Sunday. The event was put together courtesy the Sangeet Natak Academy,New Delhi. A classical vocalist from Sangli,Maharashtra,Patil credits the surroundings where she grew up for her steady growth. An exponent of the Gwalior-Agra gharana,she thanks her guru Kane Buwa for exposing her to the various shailees of other gharanas and perfecting the art of rendition and performance. Patil has put her 12 years of gurukul training to use by taking music classes on Skype,teaching students in the US and Dubai via distance learning.
