1 million views in 15 minutes: Sidhu Moosewala’s latest track ‘Mera Na’ out today
Featuring international stars Burna Boy and Steel Banglez, the song’s release has been much-awaited since Moosewala’s parents met Nigerian singer Burna Boy in November last year during their UK visit.

‘Mera Na’, the third song of Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moosewala to be released since his death, was dropped Friday and crossed one million views on YouTube within the first 15 minutes.
Featuring international stars Burna Boy and Steel Banglez, the song’s release has been much-awaited since Moosewala’s parents met Nigerian singer Burna Boy in November last year during their UK visit.
Sidhu Moosewala was murdered on May 29 last year following which his parents have been running a campaign seeking justice for the singer-songwriter. The video of the latest song features a flag with the words ‘Justice for Sidhu Moosewala’. It also has the rapper’s typical signature in which he sings about himself and the ‘fame he enjoys even after his murder’.
Following a request by the Union government, ‘SYL’ – the first song released after Moosewala’s murder – was banned on YouTube in India for allegedly glorifying Sikh militants. The second track was on Sikh warrier Hari Singh Nalwa.
Like most of Moosewala’s hit numbers, the latest video also features tractors and Punjabi folk life. The song was written and sung by Moosewala with rap from Burna Boy.
