Om this note former cricketer and BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu appealed to people for a change of regime. Sidhu campaigned for the candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party in ward 2 and 22. He also made a pitch for BJP candidate Arun Sood from ward 8.
Launching an attack on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,Sidhu said that he is the honest king of the most corrupt regime in India. Manmohan Singh is a rubber ka gudda. He is the most helpless PM. Sidhu alleged that the government browbeats people who raise their voice against corruption,The BJP will support anyone who raises his voice against corruption.
Sidhus speech was interspersed with his famous Sidhuisms. He said,Congress government Munni aur Sheela se zyada badnam hai. The symbol of the hand of the Congress is a slap on the face of the common man. Prices of essential commodities is high and soon the cylinder will cost Rs 700. There are talks about FDI in retail. Traders,farmers and labourers are given no benefits even when a bailout package was being considered for Vijay Mallya. What kind of an economist is the Prime Minister? Sidhu stated that in Punjab also the SAD-BJP alliance would form its government.
BJP candidates in ward 22 Devesh Moudgil and in ward 2 Saurabh Joshi highlighted the problems that were being faced in their wards. They stated that the basic facilities were missing and Congress could not develop the areas. Both of them are facing sitting Congress councillors.
