Shootout in Sector 34 after cops chase murder accused

High drama took place in Sector 34 on Friday when gunshots were fired during a police chase of murder accused,Gurpreet Sekhon. Ferozepur Police were giving chase to Sekhon when the incident occurred,Sekhon is an accused in the murder of one Amandeep Singh Deora, and had come to Chandigarh to meet his girlfriend. Sekhon was accompanied by co-accused Gurshahid alias Shera.
In plaint clothes,Ferozepur police had tracked down Sekhon when he and Shera fired gunshots into the air. Sekhon reversed his vehicle into an auto rickshaw and managed to escape along with his girlfriend.
A case has been registered by the Chandigarh Police on the complaint of Ferozepur Police. The concerned SHO has given a complaint on the basis of which a case under the Arms Act has been registered.
The Ferozepur police had booked six persons in connection with the murder Amandeep aka Happy Deora,on the basis of the statement of his father,Desh Raj.
Happy Deora was shot dead at point blank range on July 1. Eyewitnesses said while Happy was buying some gifts from a shop,some youths who had come in a Gypsy entered the shop and shot Happy in the chest multiple time.
Involved in over 18 criminal cases himself,Happy was curout on bail. His close friends revealed that he had left the world of crime and wanted to lead a normal life and had recently got married.
