SD College emerge winners

SD College claimed the men’s title on the concluding day of the 33rd Chandigarh State Men and Ninth Women Boxing Championship held at Sector 42 Sports Complex. The college won the championship for the 25th time. In the women’s category,Government College for Girls,Sector 121 claimed the title while Dhanvantri Ayurvedic College claimed the second spot.

On the concluding day,Paramjeet of United Club emerged as the winner against Vikas Dahiya of Sharda Club,Sector 40 in the 48 Kg category while in the 54 Kg category,Mukesh Kumar of SD College emerged as the winner against Dharampal of Burail Boxing Club. In the 57 kg category,Mohit of SGGGS,Sector 26 emerged as the winner in the final against Vikas of Government College,Sector 46 while in the 60 Kg category,Sandeep of Government College,Sector 46 emerged as the winner against Sombir.

In the 69 Kg category,Sham Yadav of ITFT emerged as the winner against Surjit of government College,Sector 46 while in the 75 kg category,Suresh Kumar won against Rakesh of SD College,Sector 32. In the 81 kg category,Sanjeev of SD College,Sector 32 lost to Sunil Panwar of Eagle Club in the final while in the 91 Kg category,Vinod of SD College,Sector 32 defeated Rajbir of Eagle Club.
