Sahitya Akademi award for DIG

Haryana Deputy Inspector General of Police (CID) Rajbir Deswal has been selected by the Haryana Sahitya Akademi for the prestigious Pandit Lakhmi Chand Samman for 2009-10. The Rs 1 lakh cash award is given in recognition of an individual’s contribution in the fields of art,culture,history and folk literature. The award will be presented at a special function to be organised in the near future. A post-graduate in English,Deswal has authored many books and writes regularly for prominent national dailies. He has been a recipient of the President’s Police Medal for meritorious service.
