It is turning out to be one of the fastest growing sectors in the leisure and travel industry. Eco-travel just got haute and Discovery HD World is all set to take viewers on a journey that explores a breathtaking environment and transports one to exotic locations where people come together in a bid to preserve the planet. Called Travel Wild,the eco-travel adventure will pan its cameras on some of the world’s most important environmental travel destinations.

Anchored by wildlife filmmaker and adventurer Lin Sutherland,the show will embark on an eco-journey to learn how to travel with minimal impact on the ecosystem in some of the world’s irreplaceable environments. The series will highlight the world’s best natural assets and feature interviews with eco-operators and the experts who keep that destination so special. The destinations include Daintree rainforest located in Tropical North Queensland,dramatic scenery of the Great Ocean Road in Victoria and eco-certified Kimberley Quest. Sutherland camps out on an iceberg,swims in a lake filled with thousands of non-stinging jellyfish and goes in search of the feared Anaconda. She camps at places that operate in a manner designed to preserve the planet,support host communities and encourage a growing number of operators who are committed to sustainable travel. The show begins on June 27. It will be screened every Wednesday at 8 pm on Discovery HD World.
