For years,Indian rock music has been rubbished by most hardcore rock music buffs. Now,RIO,which claims to be India’s first Hindi hard rock band,have chosen to popularise this genre with the launch their debut album called Raaste next week. “We felt that there wasn’t a noteworthy hard rock Hindi band in the country. There were plenty of good English rock bands,” says Vishal Rajan,who founded the band along with Vinay Lobo. While Rajan is the lead vocalist and doubles as a keyboardist,Lobo is the supporting vocalist and lead guitarist. Drummer Ian Enthiado and Vishal Lobo on bass guitars complete the band. Some tracks on the album are Rocker Banna Hai,Zindagi and Raaste.
