Riding all the way to glory

The tradition of passing the rich legacy of horse-riding has been going on in the Dhindsa family since three generations but perhaps the youngest Dhindsa did what even his grandfather would not have imagined.

The tradition of passing the rich legacy of horse-riding has been going on in the Dhindsa family since three generations but perhaps the youngest Dhindsa did what even his grandfather would not have imagined.

Exactly a year and a half after he won the best child rider (Group III) at Delhi Horse Show,Gursobha rose to the expectations of his parents and won the Show Jumping event (Category C) in the FEI Children’s International Jumping competition held recently in New Delhi. What more,he also represented ‘Team India’- a feat for the young rider.

Riding on his horse Kashish,the 11-year-old showed great skills and jumped all the four rounds within the stipulated time- a feat in children’s category. He is looking forward to see his world ranking when the results are out next month. Still honing his skills under coach Jatinder Singh,the budding horse-riders hopes to overcome challenges and tough competitions that he will face in the future.

A student of Yadavindra Public School,Mohali,Gursobha plans to improve upon his international rankings and hopes to bag an Olympic medal in the sport.
