Rickshaw-pullers given reflectors,blankets on Road Safety Week

Chandigarh Traffic Police organised a workshop for rickshaw pullers as part of the 23rd Road Safety Week celebrations.

The Chandigarh Traffic Police organised a workshop for rickshaw pullers as part of the 23rd Road Safety Week celebrations. The workshop was held at Chandigarh Traffic Park,Sector 23,to create awareness about road rules and regulations amongst rickshaw pullers.

Over 200 cycle rickshaw pullers took part in the workshop. Road safety literature was distributed amongst rickshaw pullers who were made aware of traffic rules and regulations. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP Traffic) Vijay Kumar addressed the participants. Over 100 blankets and 200 reflectors,for rickshaws,were distributed after the event.

Earlier in the morning,a Trauma Response Workshop for PCR and Traffic Police Personnel was held at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sector 31. A team headed by Dr Raj Bahadur,Director GMCH 32,along with other doctors imparted practical training to policemen regarding emergency situations. The Trauma Response Workshop of GMCH,Sector 32,is affiliated with America Heart Centre. Over 200 police officials from PCR,police stations and Traffic Wing attended this workshop. Deputy Inspector General of Police Alok Kumar,DSP Traffic and DSP PCR Roshan Lal also attended the event. The workshop of GMCH,Sector 32 will continue for another few days.
