A USA-based choir group hopes to popularise the a-cappella genre of music in the city
The five members of SingCo,the choir group who have come all the way from Houston,Texas,to visit Chandigarh are connected by the power of music. We now know how to synchronize our pitch, which song the others are planning to sing, the mood of the music and above all each other, say Amy Aquino,Justin Jones,Jacob Walker,Alexander Lach and Gurkaran Singh, all set to perform at the Punjab Kala Bhavan.
With all the members aged between 16 to18 years of age,the members now want to pursue majors in music, says Aquino, who wants to do opera. As of now,the group is happy appreciating Indian classical and Punjabi music and enjoying a tour to Amritsar,Ladakh,Delhi and Agra before flying back to USA.
The choir will perform at the Punjab Kala Bhavan,Sector 16,Chandigarh,on July 27 and at the India Habitat Centre,Delhi,on August 5.
