Mentions failing health, agricultural operations as grounds for his application
After the Administration rejected his parole application the first time, former IPS officer S P S Rathore is trying his luck for the second time even as the Administration has said it would not rush a decision. Rathore has again applied for parole, citing agricultural operations and failing health as the main reasons.
Sources say Rathore has mentioned in his application that he needs to get his agricultural equipment, including a tubewell and a tractor repaired, for which he needs to be out on parole. He claimed that the tubewell and the tractor were lying non-functional for the last one year. He also said that since his son,who also has a stake in his land at Raipurrani, stays in Mumbai,he cannot look after the land.
Meanwhile, the police denied having received any official communique regarding the application. Maneesh Choudhary,Superintendent of Police, told Newsline that once he receives an official word on it,he would get all the angles examined before forwarding the report to the deputy commissioner. Senior officials in the Administration, too, said the sub-divisional magistrate would be asked to examine the issue pertaining to agricultural reasons. The UT police has asked the district administration to furnish its opinion in a weeks time.
In August,Rathore had sought parole saying that he needed to attend to his land in Raipurrani, but the same was rejected by the Administration as it did not find it reason enough for him to come out. The Administration had said that since this is no season to sow any crops, the grounds were not necessary enough to grant parole.
