Raninder goes to sympathise with EGS teachers,told Congress was no better

Union president Pritpal Singh was equally vocal. “In the previous Congress rule,we had to sit on a 50-day dharna near Kali Devi Mata Mandir in Patiala. Our demands were not met. Us vele Na koyee mantra aaya si,na koyee santi aaya si (Neither any minister nor any official came to talk to us. The reality is that Akalis are in a way better than the Congress. They at least meet us,” Pritpal told The Indian Express.

Dubbing it a purely political move,the union also questioned the timing of Raninder’s visit,citing protests at other places like Kapurthala where Raninder did not come,as that was not poll time.

Earlier,Raninder in his address hit out at Badals and termed the slap on Varinder Kaur as “not a slap on one woman but a slap on all women of Punjab”. He used the occasion to spew venom against Akali Dal,accusing the party of unleashing vendetta and promoting family politics,among other tirades.

Raninder also visited the family of Varinder Kaur in Sukhna Ablu.
