Rain disrupts Aussie practice session

The weather in Chandigarh may have hampered the Australian team’s first practice session on the tour.

The weather in Chandigarh may have hampered the Australian team’s first practice session on the tour,it would have certainly brought smile on the face of skipper Ricky Ponting. This has been one of the wettest seasons by far in the region and with the first Test beginning in Mohali in less than 10 days time, the Aussies may have sensed an opening for their team against the hosts. The pitches have mostly been under the cover with a prolonged spell of rain in the past two months, the sun hasn’t still been shining and even though Ponting’s team had to cut short their practice at the Sector 16 Stadium when it started to rain, his fast bowlers would be fancying their chances against the Indian batting line up. Australia have the likes of Shane Watson,Mithchell Johnson,Ben Hilfenhaus and Mithchell Starc in the bowling line-up. Meanwhile,Sector 16 cricket stadium curator,Harish Sharma, told Sportline, that there are adequate measures available to protect the pitches from the rain.
