Punjabi singer, tractor stuntman booked following Insta reel
The police became aware of this incident on December 17, when Happy Mahla shared a reel of his performance on Instagram, using Kamal Grewal's song 'Sarkari Ban' as the background music.

Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district police has registered two separate cases involving Punjabi Singer Kamal Grewal and renowned tractor stuntman Gaganpal Singh, known as Happy Mahla from Moga district. This action follows a reel posted on Instagram by Happy Mahla featuring the seven-year-old song ‘Sarkari Ban’ by Kamal Grewal.
The Punjab government recently imposed a ban on tractor stunts in the state following the tragic death of a stuntman from Gurdaspur.
On December 11, Happy Mahla, recognised as the most-followed tractor stuntman in the state with 1.47 lakh followers on social media, breached the government’s ban during a performance at a Kabaddi tournament in Uchhi Paali village. The police became aware of this incident on December 17, when Happy Mahla shared a reel of his performance on Instagram, using Kamal Grewal’s song ‘Sarkari Ban’ as the background music.
Two FIRs have been lodged in response to the uploaded reel. The first FIR is against Happy Mahla under sections 188, 279, and the Motor Vehicle Act for violating the ban on public tractor stunts and reckless driving.
The second FIR targets Singer Kamal Grewal for his song ‘Sarkari Ban,’ uploaded on YouTube in 2016 and amassing over 4 million views. Notably, the song was released during the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal government, without causing any law and order issues over the past seven years.
The FIR criticises Kamal Grewal’s song, citing its provocative nature and potential influence on youth to disregard the law.
