It doesnt matter which team you are supporting in the Indian Premier Leagues Season 4. Each teams cheerleaders have built a steady fan following of their own. While there are different groups of girls in action off the field, the omnipresent ones include the White Mischief Gals, who are currently leading the cheer for three IPL teams Deccan Chargers,Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab. And its for the latter teams match on Thursday that the girls decided to learn some desi moves and incorporate the same in their dance routine.
Teaching them bhangra steps and some Bollywood thumkas, was city-based choreographer and dance instructor Varun Rana,at his studio in Sector 6,Panchkula. Last season I had choreographed a dance routine for another set of cheer girls for a post IPL party and I was happy to pitch in this time as well, said Rana, who is a popular choreographer for weddings in the region and teaches various contemporary dance forms.
Even though the traditionally dressed Pune Warriors cheerqueens togged in Neeta Lulla ensembles have failed to create a buzz, the White Mischief gals seemed to be gung-ho about showing off some desi twists. We arent complaining.
