Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains weds IPS officer Dr Jyoti Yadav; Kejriwal, Mann attend

After the ceremony, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also reached Nangal to meet the couple.

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, 32, married IPS officer Dr Jyoti Yadav at a private ceremony in Rupnagar Saturday. The Anand Karaj ceremony was held at Gurdwara Sri Bibhor Sahib in Nangal of Ropar district and was attended by both families.

After the ceremony, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also reached Nangal to meet the couple. The couple will now be hosting three reception parties, said AAP sources. The first one will be held Saturday evening at Nangal in Bains’ Anandpur Sahib constituency.

The second and third reception will be held at a resort in Zirakpur on Sunday and Monday evening, respectively, where ministers, MLAs, others Punjab politicians and bureaucrats have been invited.

Interestingly, the couple on its invites, wrote: “RSVP: All Aam Aadmi Party family.” The invite was printed in English and Punjabi languages both.

Punjab minister wedding The couple will host three reception parties, said sources in the AAP. The first one will be held on Saturday evening at Nangal in Harjot Bains’ constituency of Anandpur Sahib.

Gurgaon-based Dr Jyoti Yadav is currently posted as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Mansa. She is also a qualified dentist. Bains – who had joined AAP as a volunteer and was promoted as the party’s Punjab youth wing chief in 2016 – is a first-time MLA from Anandpur Sahib in Rupnagar district. He is a native of the district’s Gambhirpur village. Bains is a law graduate from Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Last year, Punjab CM Mann also tied the knot with Gurpreet Kaur. Since the AAP’s victory in Punjab in 2022.

AAP MLAs Narinder Kaur Bharaj and Narinderpal Singh Sawana also got married during this time.
