Punjab declared holiday today and tomorrow, here’s why

All schools, colleges, banks, and government offices in the state will remain closed on these two days.

The Punjab government has announced holidays on October 2 and 3 for Gandhi Jayanti and Aggarsen Jayanti. These holidays fall on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by a working Friday and a weekend break.

All schools, colleges, banks, and government offices in the state will remain closed on these two days.

The month of October will usher in the festival season in the region, with a series of festivities spread across the entire month, beginning with the start of Navratra on October 3, which coincides with Maharaja Aggrasen Jayanti.

This will be followed by Dussehra which is widely celebrated in the region on October 12, which is a Saturday.

Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti also falls in this month as does Diwali, the Festival of Lights, which is being celebrated on October 31.
