Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann removes close aide Onkar Singh as his OSD
The move comes alongside the Cabinet reshuffle in which Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has dropped four ministers and is set to induct five new faces.

The day after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann dropped four ministers from his Cabinet, he removed his Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Prof Onkar Singh from the post on Monday.
Onkar Singh is a close friend of CM Mann and in-charge of the Dhuri Assembly segment. He was rewarded for his loyalty and appointed the OSD in August 2022. He has been looking after Mann’s Dhuri Assembly segment and the political activities of the chief minister’s wife, Dr Gurpreet Kaur.
The four ministers dropped from the Cabinet are Chetan Singh Jouramajra, who held the public relations, mining and horticulture portfolios; Bram Shankar Jimpa (revenue), Balkar Singh (local bodies) and Anmol Gagan Mann (tourism). They submitted their resignations on Sunday.
Mann will induct five MLAs into his Cabinet at 5 pm on Monday. They are Barinder Kumar Goyal (Lehra), Hardeep Singh Mundian (Sahnewal), Dr Ravjot Singh (Sham Chaurasi), Tarunpreet Singh Sond (Khanna), and Mohinder Bhagat (Jalandhar).
The Punjab Cabinet can have up to 18 members. Right now, there are three spots open. After Monday’s reshuffle, the Cabinet will have 16 ministers.
The Mann government in Punjab is undergoing its fourth reshuffle. This comes shortly after a similar reorganisation in Delhi following the release of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal from jail. The Supreme Court recently granted Kejriwal bail in the Delhi excise policy case and he announced that he was stepping down as chief minister. AAP leader Atishi succeeded Kejriwal as the Delhi chief minister.
