PU V-C: Educationists split on insider-outsider question

The vice-chancellor should be preferably from within the campus. He/she must be aware of the ins and outs of the university. It will not be easy for an outsider to understand the administration in a few months. If the V-C is from the campus,it will be an advantage for the students and teachers. He/she can serve them better. An insider will be an undisputed king.

“Vice-chancellor should be from within Panjab University. He/she will be like a family member and will better understand the problems and needs of the family. Importance should be given to a capable person,no matter from where he/she belongs. There should be no hard and fast rule that an insider should be appointed. The person should be efficient. The advantage of selecting an insider is that he/she will be aware of the working of the university.
