The Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, on Wednesday launched its “new-generation secure parking” stickers for day scholars for the academic session 2025-2026, to ensure smooth digital verification.

Launched by PU Vice-Chancellor Professor Renu Vig, these stickers are embedded with a QR code for digital verification, a tamper-proof hologram, and a unique encrypted symbol to prevent misuse and duplication. These stickers are printed on a high-quality reflective surface, ensuring better visibility throughout the day and enhanced security, officials said.

The QR codes were securely generated in-house by the students of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department, University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), who were appointed under the “earn-while-learn” scheme by the Dean Student Welfare (DSW) office, officials said, adding this showcased the university’s commitment to promoting student engagement in real-time applications and skill-building.
