Prosecution closes evidence in inspector Sucha Singh’s murder

Till now,statements of 18 witnesses have been recorded. The case will be heard on Nov 11.

Prosecution on Wednesday closed its evidence in inspector Sucha Singh murder during its resumed hearing. The Court of District and Sessions Judges SK Aggarwal adjourned the case to November 11 for recording the statements of the accused,Basant (a dismissed constable) under Section 313 of Criminal Procedure Code. Accused Basant’s statement was to be recorded in the case on Wednesday,but the same could not be done as his counsel was not available.

Till now,statements of 18 witnesses have been recorded. In the run after murdering the husband and mother-in-law of his paramour two days after her marriage,dismissed Chandigarh Police constable Basant Kumar had allegedly murdered Inspector Sucha Singh and injured a Chandigarh Police constable on June 8.
