Punjabi Singer Rajvir Jawanda Death: The popular singer was on his way to Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla when he lost control of his motorcycle due to stray cattle and met with an accident near Baddi. Jawanda suffered critical injuries in the accident. Before being shifted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, Jawanda was taken to a hospital in Solan, where he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was brought to a private hospital in Mohali early Sunday in an “extremely critical” condition. In a statement, Fortis Hospital said, “Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda passed away at 10:55 AM on October 8, 2025. Despite extensive medical support and continuous care, he could not be saved. We express our deepest condolences to his family and fans.” The hospital said earlier that Jawanda had sustained serious head and spine injuries in the accident, and was on ventilator support. On arrival, the singer was immediately assessed by teams from the emergency and neurosurgery departments. Detailed examinations were carried out, and he was placed on advanced life support. He, however, remained in a critical state on ventilator support for all 10 days he was in the hospital. The doctors did not find any improvement in his condition, the hospital stated. 'His smile, voice will always echo in our memories' Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed his condolences in a post on X. “The Punjabi music world has lost a shining star forever. In such a short life, Rajvir won the hearts of millions through his soulful songs. May Waheguru grant peace to the departed soul and strength to his family and fans to bear this irreparable loss. Waheguru Waheguru," Mann's post, loosely translated from Punjabi and Hindi, read. Prominent Punjabi singer Surjit Khan said, “We have lost a simple, honest, and hardworking artist far too soon. His smile and voice will always echo in our memories.” Veteran singers Gurdas Maan, Diljit Dosanjh, Amrinder Gill, Harbhajan Mann, Karan Aujla, and the parents of the late Sidhu Moosewala, along with several other artists, also expressed deep grief over Jawanda’s death. After his accident, his fans had organised ardas (prayers) in gurdwaras. Many artistes, including Kulwinder Billa, Kanwar Grewal, Gippy Grewal, and Hans Raj Hans, visited him in the hospital to show their support. His mother said the film industry was helping the family financially as he was under advanced critical care. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also expressed his concern on social media, sending prayers for the singer’s recovery and urging everyone to keep Jawanda in their thoughts. Jawanda had completed a training course with the Punjab Police, and considered a career in law enforcement. However, his passion for music and acting eventually took over, leading him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. With more than 32 hit songs to his credit, Jawanda was best known for popular songs such as Sardaari, Zor, Kali Jawande Di, Rabb Karke, Mera Dil, Jamme Naal De, Dhiyaan, Sukoon, Kangani, Kamaal and Jogia. With over 32 hit songs to his credit, his untimely demise has cast a pall of sorrow across the Punjabi music industry.
