‘PMPML needs full-time head’

While Pune Divisional Commissioner and chairman of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Dilip Band has taken over as the new managing director of the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML),civic activists have reiterated their demand that the transport body needs a full-time chief.

In a release,Sajag Nagrik Manch said,“There are provisions that state there should be a full-time managing director for the PMPML. As Band has been given an additional charge,the appointment is not legal. Since Band is also the chairman of RTA,it is improper that he takes decisions on autorickshaws and taxi fares and PMPML,” it said.
