PCR gets obscene call,case filed

The UT Police on Tuesday registered a case of obscene act and deterring a public servant from his duty against a resident of Chandigarh who had allegedly used obscene language with a woman constable of UT Police posted at the Police Control Room.

The UT Police on Tuesday registered a case of obscene act and deterring a public servant from his duty against a resident of Chandigarh who had allegedly used obscene language with a woman constable of UT Police posted at the Police Control Room.

About 12.30 am,the UT Police Control Room received a call from a resident which was answered by a woman constable. When the constable received the call,the caller started using obscene language with the constable. She immediately informed her senior officers.

DSP (Communications) Roshan Lal said,“We verified the claims by the woman constable and gave a complaint to the Police Station,Sector 3,along with the mobile number from which the call was received.”

DSP (Central) Ashish Kapoor said,“A case has been registered and we have identified the person on whose name the phone has been registered. We are verifying if it was the same person who had made the call or if the phone was used by someone else.”
