Panchkula: Unavailability of food in cart spirals into fatal stabbing

Police have arrested a man for allegedly stabbing a 23-year-old to death following an argument.
According to the police, the incident occurred on the night of July 7. The deceased, Raman (23), a native of Jind district (Haryana), was working as a caretaker at an apartment in Zirakpur (Punjab) for the past one year. According to his elder brother Rahul and friend Aman, Raman went to party with his friends near Morni t-point.
Aman told the police that it was his birthday, and after the party, the group stopped near Aashiana Gate in Sector 26, Panchkula, where a youth named Arjun runs a fast-food cart. Raman asked for food, but was informed by the staffer Akash that the stock was over. An argument broke out between Raman and Akash, which quickly escalated into violence.
According to Aman, Akash picked up a knife from the cart and stabbed Raman in the chest, causing him to collapse on the spot. Raman was immediately taken to the Sector-6 hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A case was registered against the accused under sections 103(2) and 3(5) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chandimandir police station.
Panchkula DCP Srishti Gupta confirmed that as soon as the information was received, the police team visited the scene, gathered key evidence, and used technical analysis to trace the accused.
“We are also investigating other aspects of the case, and if anyone else is found involved, strict legal action will follow”, she said.
The accused will be produced before the court on July 9.
