Haryana transfers 44 IAS officers; Sumita Misra new home secretary, Ashok Khemka appointed transport secretary

With the posting of Ashok Khemka as the transport secretary, a 1994-batch IPS officer Navdeep Singh Virk was relieved from this assignment.

In a major administrative shake-up, the Haryana Government Sunday transferred or posted 44 IAS officers, including Sumita Misra and Ashok Khemka.

In the order issued late Sunday, the Haryana government appointed 1990-batch IAS officer Sumita Misra as the additional chief secretary (home) in place of Anurag Rastogi, who has been posted as additional chief secretary (revenue). Taking senior Indian Administrative Service officer Ashok Khemka out of a “sidelined” assignment, the Haryana government posted him as the additional chief secretary (transport).

The 1991-batch IAS officer, Khemka was looking after the printing and stationery department as additional chief secretary till now. With the posting of Khemka as the transport secretary, a 1994-batch IPS officer Navdeep Singh Virk has been relieved from this assignment. A 2021-batch IAS officer Nisha will be the new deputy commissioner (DC) of Panchkula.

While 1990-batch IAS officer Anand Mohan Sharan has been posted as additional chief secretary (forests), 1991 batch IAS officer Vineet Garg will look after the higher education department. Another 1991-batch IAS officer A K Singh will look after the important department of town and country planning as its additional chief secretary and 1995-batch IAS officer D Suresh will be the principal secretary (industries and commerce). Principal Secretary (Fisheries) Rajeev Ranjan will now also look after the labour department.

Amit Kumar Agrawal, a 2003-batch IAS officer, will take charge of the panchayats and public relations department, 2004-batch IAS officer Ashima Brar will look after the excise and taxation department, and C G Rajini Kaanthan will be the new transport commissioner of Haryana.

P C Meena, a 2004 batch IAS officer, was posted as the commissioner of the Ambala division and A Sreenivas as the commissioner of Hisar range. Rohtak division commissioner Sanjeev Verma was posted as the director general of the sports department and Hisar division commissioner Geeta Bharti is now the secretary, home-I and home-II in the state home department.

Anshaj Singh of the 2008 batch will be the new commissioner of the Rohtak division, 2009-batch IAS officer Pankaj will be the director of the urban local bodies department, and Rajesh Jogpal will be the director of food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs department.
