NATIONAL INVESTIGATION Agency (NIA) chief Sharad Kumar Thursday visited the crime scenes that fall under Narot Jaimal Singh police station regarding the abduction and killing of taxi driver Ikagar Singh and car-jacking of Gurdaspur SP Salwinder Singh’s SUV.
He started his journey from Bamial, a border village where a farmer, Jaspal Singh, had noticed some suspicious footprints in his fields located near the border.
He also visited Talur village from where the SP reportedly started his return journey for Gurdaspur. An NIA team also checked the records at the Kathlor overbridge police post, near the area where Ikagar’s body was found. A team had also visited the crime scenes Tuesday.

DSP (Rural) Kuldeep Singh said the postmortem of the bodies of four terrorists were conducted at the civil hospital, Pathankot. “They were aged between 25 and 30 years. The postmortem report is awaited,” he said.
“We have not received any formal complaint from the Air Force for the attack on the base station. An FIR has been registered on the behalf of SHO Bharat Bhushan. We have not make any additions to the FIR so far,” said the DSP. The case was registered on January 2.
As per procedure, the Punjab police registers case for any criminal activity in the territory of the security forces such as the Air Force and Army after receiving a written letter from concerned authority. The Punjab police, however, registered the case against the terrorists on the behalf of a report by SHO Bushan of police station, division-2, Pathankot. Registered on January 2, 2016, it was first FIR of the year in this police station, which covers most of the area falling inside Air Force Station.
