Neha was ‘raped’,killed elsewhere: Cops

“It is possible that one of the assailants brought her scooter and parked it at the place where they dumped her body. It could be an attempt to mislead the police,” said an investigating officer.

The preliminary probe has further indicated that Neha may have been gangraped before being murdered. While the postmortem report has specified injuries on her private parts,a thorough report is still awaited. The police have also sent her vaginal swabs to the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory (CFSL) to find out if she was actually raped before being murdered.

“We have sent the viscera for chemical examination,after which we would be able to corroborate our preliminary investigations. There is a possibility that she might have been drugged before being killed. It would be clear after the viscera examination report comes,” said Sub-divisional Police Officer (South),Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar.

Meanwhile,the police have claimed to be on the trail of the unidentified man who answered Neha’s phone when her father,Rajbir Ahlawat,had called her on the fateful night. “The man,who identified himself as a Badheri resident,is yet to be identified,” said an investigating official. The police are scrutinising the victim’s call records.

The police have also quizzed over half a dozen friends of Neha,including Jyotsana whom Neha had visited on Friday evening. Another friend,Kanika,considered to be Neha’s close friend,has also been questioned.

According to information,no friend of Neha has raised any suspicion of her having enmity with anyone.
