The great outdoors fill Anu Ganju’s thoughts and canvas. The painter’s muse is nature, its varied moods and scenes. Painting is a passion that has filled Anu’s life ever since she was a child and it absorbs her heart and mind. “There’s so much that you want to capture and for me painting is a solitary process, one that I am devoted to,and besides my husband,I’m really touchy about taking suggestions from anyone,’’ smiles the Delhi-based painter, here to exhibit 30 of her works at the Alliance Francasie. Chandigarh is special for Anu,for she did her schooling at Carmel Convent and then studied at the Chandigarh College of Architecture. “It’s has such beautiful memories,’’ Anu does freelance work as an architect, with a special interest in interiors. “But it’s painting that consumes me inside-out,though now,my training as an architect reflects in my work, especially the 3-D effect,’’ travelling extensively with her husband all over India and abroad,Anu’s got inspiration flowing from everywhere. Vivid colours, the use of diverse materials charcoal, pencils, water colours and oils, says Anu has won her a lot of appreciation. “I like to blend it all without too much effort and don’t want to be repetitive,’’ the rising sun, birds, flowers, trees, sky form the core of her work. “The sky is so amazing,I spend hours looking out of the aircraft at the sky and it’s sheer happiness that I experience when I paint these scenes,’’ smiles the painter, who is now doing sequential work too.

The exhibition is on at the Alliance Francaise.
