music at the classical music festival organised by SPIC MACAY,Chandigarh Chapter.

To take place at the PEC University Of Technology,Sector 12,day one of the festival,March 27,will feature a performance by Saskia Rao-de Haas,a cellist and composer from Netherlands,who has introduced her Indian cello — an innovative new instrument — to North Indian classical music and created a unique playing style. Saskia has created music for different music productions,dance,films and theatre.

On March 28,Pushparaj Koshti,a renowned player of both sitar and surbahar,will perform at the festival. Koshti is a leading exponent of the dhrupad style.

On March 30,music lovers can enjoy a performance by Bombay Jayashri Ramnath,a Carnatic music singer who has composed and arranged music for several albums,dance operas and a telefilm. She has collaborated with dancer Kum Leela Samson and lent her voice for Sri Abdul Kalam’s audio autobiography,Wings of Fire.
