Lend an ear to some of the great artistes of Indian classical
music at the classical music festival organised by SPIC MACAY,Chandigarh Chapter.
To take place at the PEC University Of Technology,Sector 12,day one of the festival,March 27,will feature a performance by Saskia Rao-de Haas,a cellist and composer from Netherlands,who has introduced her Indian cello an innovative new instrument to North Indian classical music and created a unique playing style. Saskia has created music for different music productions,dance,films and theatre.
On March 28,Pushparaj Koshti,a renowned player of both sitar and surbahar,will perform at the festival. Koshti is a leading exponent of the dhrupad style.
On March 30,music lovers can enjoy a performance by Bombay Jayashri Ramnath,a Carnatic music singer who has composed and arranged music for several albums,dance operas and a telefilm. She has collaborated with dancer Kum Leela Samson and lent her voice for Sri Abdul Kalams audio autobiography,Wings of Fire.
