The run-up to Chandigarh Fashion Week gets hotter with auditions for models running to a packed house!
Given the fact that it will be the citys first fashion week, expectations are undoubtedly high. But its heartening to see that preparations to make the event a grand show are catching speed! The run-up to the three-day fashion extravaganza that kickstarts on January 29 has already begun with auditions for local modelling talent getting underway. In all there will be 35 female models and five male models for the various shows spread over the three days. While we have zeroed in on 20 leading female models of the country already,we are now looking to promote regional talent as promised earlier, mentioned Chandigarh Fashion Councils president JS Jatana. The auditions, conducted at Tagore Theatre on Saturday, ran to a full house with wannabe models, amateur to professionals, lining up for a chance to walk the ramp for Chandigarhs first fashion edition. We have had great response and short-listing has been difficult. Of the nearly 150 walk-ins,we have short-listed 17 male models and 16 female models, mentioned official choreographer for the event Kaushik Ghosh who was hard at work getting the ladies and men to queue up and give it their best shot. From Jammu to Sahnewal,Patiala to Amritsar, the auditions saw the hopefuls come from across the region.
