Mob attacks ASI

The UT Police has booked some residents of Bapu Dham Colony (BDC),Sector 26 who had allegedly attacked an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted in Police Post,BDC on Friday night. A case of rioting and assaulting a public servant on duty against Nath,Balbir and some more persons who are yet to be identified has been identified.

One of the police officials said,“On Friday night,Ravi,a resident of BDC was allegedly assaulted by some youth. Nath and Balbir brought Ravi to the police post to get a case registered. When ASI Dalip Singh asked him,Ravi said that the incident took place in Panchkula. The officials at the police post asked Ravi to report the incident to Panchkula Police”.

However,Nath and Balbir insisted that the case be registered in Police Post,BDC. The police officials refused and asked the three to leave.

Injured Ravi along with Nath and Balbir left the police post but later returned with a mob. First the women of BDC surrounded the police post and then started pelting stones. ASI Dalip was also attacked. The police has booked the residents for rioting,criminal intimidation and assaulting a public servant.
