Deputy Commissioner K S Pannu seems to in trouble again. His absence at the Vidhan Sabha’s Estimate Committee meeting was not taken well by the legislators.

Valtoha MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha and others sought a privilege motion against Pannu for the dereliction of duty.

MLAs including K D Bhandari,Harpreet Singh,Madan Lal,Sukhpal Singh Khaira,Didar Singh and Sunil Jakhar were here to hold the meeting in which the officials from various departments were summoned. “Despite prior information of the meeting, the DC remained absent. This is violation of the privilege and so we have filed a written complaint with the Speaker”,said Valtoha.

He said the meeting was important as they had to review the expenditure made by the district administration.

Pannu, meanwhile, said he had a meeting with the Chief Secretary in Chandigarh and he had deputed officials who were present at the meeting.

Pannu had earlier faced ire of the Speaker who summoned him under the violation of the privilege.
