Migraine research identifies responsible gene

A research has determined the gene inside human body responsible for hereditary migraine.

A research has determined the gene inside human body responsible for hereditary migraine. As per a study conducted in Australia,the gene named tresk leads to tranmission of the disease in a family.

There is no specified cure for the disease,so far. However,conducting a clinical trial,scientists have determined that consumption of spinach can help in reducing the onset of the disease.

Discussing the study at an International conference in Panjab University (PU) today,Prof Lyn Griffiths from Griffith University,Australia,said,There are specific drugs available in the market which can cure migraine. The medicines which are prescribed to mirgraine patients are simple toxic drugs. Spinach consists of a substance called foliate which can reduce the onset of migraine. The research papers were presented at a three-day International Conference on Genes,Genetics & Genomics: Today & Tomorrow- Human Concerns and Annual Conference of The Indian Society of Human Genetics,where 300 researchers participated.
