Expecting a thundershower to grip the City Beautiful within 24 hours,the Chandigarh Meteorological Department has predicted a major dip in the mercury in parts of Punjab,Haryana and Chandigarh.
However,bringing further good news to city residents,The department further predicts that the weather conditions will not play a spoilsport in Holi celebrations across the city although adverse weather conditions are expected to prevail over Chandigarh after the festival.
Thundershowers are likely to occur in isolated parts of Punjab and Haryana during the coming week. As far as Chandigarh is concerned,the temperature is likely to fall in the next 24 hours and a slight downpour accompanied by thunderstorms may occur here as well, said Surinder Pal,director of the Chandigarh Meteorological Centre.
He further said that the weather forecasts predict favourable weather conditions in Chandigarh until the festival of colours. Although a cloudy sky may prevail over the city before Holi,the weather is expected to be generally favourable on 25,26 and 27 of March, informed Surinder Pal further.
Predicting colder days ahead of Holi,the department however hints that people may once again have to get their woolen clothes out of their wardrobes. Adverse weather conditions are likely to grip the city after Holi. A major dip in the mercury is expected after March 27 and there may be colder days ahead, informed Surinder Pal further.
