Martyrs remembered at Western Command

To commemorate the 63rd anniversary of the raising of the Headquarters’ Western Command on September 15,a memorial-cum-wreath laying ceremony was held at Chandimandir on Wednesday. Floral tributes were paid to the martyrs at a solemn ceremony held at Veer Smriti,the war memorial at Chandimandir. Gen JJ Singh,Governer of Arunachal Pradesh and former Army Commander,Western Command,Lt Gen S R Ghosh,GOC-in-C,Western Command along with other 11 former Army Commanders paid tribute to the martyrs. Other Generals and former Western Army Commanders who laid the wreaths at the war memorial included Gen (retd) SF Rodrigues,former Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator,Lt Gen S K Sinha,former Army Commander and former Governer of Jammu & Kashmir,Lt Gen H Kaul,Lt Gen PN Hoon,Lt Gen RK Gulati,Lt Gen HB Kala,Lt Gen Vijay Oberoi,Lt Gen Surjit Singh,Lt Gen SS Mehta,Lt Gen Daljeet Singh and Lt Gen TK Sapru (EFS).
