A Sector 15 resident was allegedly looted by some unidentified persons on the Chandigarh-bound Howrah-Kalka train on late Saturday evening. The matter came to light on Sunday when the victim did not reach home on time and his wife started searching for him.
Munish Srivastva,who works with the local Cooperation Bank,had gone to Hyderabad last week for some official training. He boarded a flight from Hyderabad around three in the afternoon and reached New Delhi at 6 pm. He then made a call to his wife,Richa,and informed her about boarding the train,which was scheduled to arrive at 4.15 am at Chandigarh railway station.
When he did not reach till eight in the morning,I made a call to the railway station,to find out if the train was delayed. After that,I went to the station, said Richa. The family then went to Kalka,where they were told that Munish was found unconscious in the train and was admitted to the civil hospital.
Though his condition is stated to be stable,the victim was referred to General Hospital,Sector 6,late in the evening.
Munish claimed that he met two persons at the New Delhi railway station,who boarded the train with him. They later gave him something to drink,which was laced with drugs and he lost consciousness.
When he woke up,he found that the two gold chains he wearing,Rs 5,000 in cash,a watch,two ATM cards and his driving licence were missing.
Munish also alleged that the two passengers knew the TTE and were carrying liquor bottles when they boarded the train. He said the TTE was aware of the fact that the two were travelling without tickets.
