A 52-year-old man was arrested by the Crime Branch of the Chandigarh Police for allegedly raping a minor.
The accused was identified as Manjit Singh Arora,a resident of Sector 34,who is an industrialist.
The mother of the rape victim,Kalawati,had complained that her 14-year-old daughter was hired as domestic help by Arora and in October 2008,she was sent to Mumbai,where his daughter was settled.
Kalawati alleged Arora raped her daughter repeatedly,in the city as well as in Mumbai.
The accused was arrested by the police on Thursday and the matter was being investigated further.
